Tell us a little about yourself and your blog
My name is Lorri and I’m the mother of 4 really cool children and the wife of an US Army soldier. In our almost 16 year marriage, we have lived all over the US and overseas, making friends and memories where ever we go. My blog, The Mac and Cheese Chronicles is the story of our life as it happens.
What about a little bit about your family
My oldest child is Boo, who is a 9 year old, soccer loving, Jedi Master, 4th Grader. Next in line is Pumpkin Girl, my 7 year old aspiring ballerina and 2nd grader. Rebecca is our third child and blessed our lives for just 8 short months. Knowing she is waiting for us has only sweetened our hope of heaven. Bip, the youngest, will be 3 years old in a week and half and specializes in making us laugh.
Do you use a specific approach to homeschooling or a more eclectic approach?
We use Sonlight Curriculum, which is literature based and fits nicely with the Charlotte Mason approach I try to add.
What do you hope that your children will gain from homeschooling?
First – a close relationship with each other. Second – an education which is fine tuned to address their particular needs and learning styles. Also, a love for good books and a thirst for knowledge.
Have your children exclusively been homeschooled or have they attended public or private school at some point?
Except for a 3 week attempt at preschool for my oldest child, we have been homeschoolers from the beginning.
Why did you decide that you wanted to be a writer for The Homeschool Classroom?
Because I like to write and to give my opinion about everything! While my personal blog is about my life in general, writing for The Homeschool Classroom gives me an opportunity to write to a more specific audience. Plus, it just sounded like fun.
Is there anything else that you want to share to help us get to know you better?
Hmm. Is this like a job interview where the last thing you say could determine whether or not you get the job? I sure hope not.
