Have you ever tried to find something on the internet to supplement your teaching, but by the time you weeded out all the websites that your search term generated, found them inappropriate?
I know it has happened to me, and leaves me completely frustrated.
You can find some great resources on the internet using Google or Yahoo, but I will review for you Helpme2teach.com, as an option or alternative to those.
There are a number of ways to get the information you would like from Helpme2teach.com.
1) You can search from The Table of Contents provided. Listed alphabetically they range from Academic Benchmarks to Specialty Topics and much in between. Most of the topics have subsections as well that are a little bit more specific. For example if the topic is Animals a subsection would be Birds or Mammals. Once you choose the subject you are interested in, you click on that link and are taken to a page that lists one to numerous websites that contain information pertinent to the subject at hand.
2) You can find information using their site, by simply using their search engine to type in what you are looking for. I have found that way a little less reliable, with not quite the results I was expecting, or no results at all, so I have selected to stick with the Table of Contents method.
A really nice feature of this resource is that entries under subject matter areas have been coded as to designate for whom they might be most useful.

That has been extraordinarily helpful to me, as I can immediately eliminate sites that don’t pertain to the age I’m looking for if I’m short on time.
I would classify this site as a “Living Website” meaning that the owner is constantly updating and revising the content. Since it deals with links going out to the world wide web, she can not always be sure that the links are currently active, or that the information has not been changed from when she first researched, but she does her best to ensure that the links are quality and of educational value.
As stated above it is a personally owned site, which means a lot of hard work, so maintaining it and keeping resources added to it daily, does incur a cost.
You can try the site out for 3 days at the cost of $4.95. If you find it is a resource that you would use frequently or is of value to you there are other pricing options.
1 month for $9.95
3 months for $15.95
or 1 year for $29.95
Elaine the owner of the site, is having a special from now until December though – if you subscribe for one year at $29.95 you get one year free if you use the code TOS. So that’s 2 years for $29.95. The payments can be made by Authorize.net or Paypal.
If you are new to homeschooling, or are intimidated by using the internet to find additional activities for your children, and have $5.00 to spare, I would suggest you check out the site. You may find a new, relatively inexpensive way to double or triple your teaching resources with access to the information immediately.
If you are quite adept at researching, finding and weeding through search results on Google for the things you want to add to your homeschool via the internet, this is an additional resource that you probably don’t need.
Thank you Elaine for the chance to review your product! If you are interested in Helpme2teach.com and wish to read more reviews check out TOS Homeschool Crew blog and settle in with a cup of coffee!
