Homeschool Library Builder

There is something about having a new or meticulously cared for book in my hands. I love the feel of being one of the first people to look in it or open it. The smell that the pages exude, the crispness of the pages.

Unfortunately those genes were evidently not handed down to Genius. While I nag tell her to take good care of her books, she is a little lax at it. With the price of books these days, I am even more adamant that she takes good care of them, especially if I want to resell them when we’re finished using them.

Through the TOS Homeschool Crew, I found out about Homeschool Library Builder. It’s almost like a used book sale through your internet connection, but better! Perfect for the books I need for Genius, as they serve their purpose and are so affordable, I need not worry if she keeps the best care of them.

Let me highlight some great features this webstore has to offer.

1) Membership Benefits. If you’re going to buy the books anyway, you may as well get a perk for doing it. For each dollar you spend on merchandise, you earn a Book Point. Fifteen Book Points = $1.00 to your account. You can use these points towards future purchases (not valid on shipping or tax). It’s free to become a member too!

2) Referral Benefits. If you refer a friend to HSLB, you get rewarded also. For every friend you refer who becomes a member and types your user name into the “how did you hear about us” box, you receive 15 Book Points. They will even provide you with business cards to hand out to other families that you know that would appreciate their site. Also if you link to them on your blog (if you have one), that garners you some Book Points as well.

3) Fundraiser Opportunities. Is your co-op or local homeschool group looking for a way to raise money? HSLB can help out with that too. From 20% to 40% proceeds, this fundraiser is a great tool for the organization and the families who wish to participate.

4) Informative Newsletter. Homeschool Library Builder also sends out a great and resourceful monthly newsletter. Along with listing their latest promotional offers, they have links for worksheets and lesson plans that follow the current seasonal time of the month.

A few other interesting things about the site you may like to know about are:

a) Many of the books are used. However, there are also some new ones. They are all marked as to their condition, and there is a page listing what the quality ratings are. Also because of the nature of their business they may only have one or two copies of certain books available.

b) They accept Visa, Mastercard, Paypal and U.S. Checks (however the latter will delay shipping as they must wait for the payment to clear).

c) You have a variety of methods to chose for shipping; Media mail or Priority. They will also ship to Canada and Internationally.

I hope you will go check them out. If you make a purchase today November 6th, there is free shipping anywhere in the lower 48 states!! I know that I will be using them, whenever I can find the books I need on their site.

You can hang out with Tammy at Three Different Directions where you can read reviews about homeschooling products.
