Quick! What’s 7 X 9? What about 8 X 6? How about 9 X 8?
Those upper times tables are often the hardest to remember. That’s where a handy little resource called Times Tales comes in. Times Tales is an inexpensive mnemonic memorization system for learning the upper times tables in about an hour. Really.
My older daughter had the upper times tables (basically 6, 7, 8 and 9 multiplied in their various combinations) in about 45 minutes her fourth grade year. I used it this year with my 7 and 8 year-olds and it worked just as well, though we wound up working on it a little each day for a week since their attention spans were a bit shorter. My daughter is now in 7th grade and still easily remembers what she learned with Times Tales and I see it helping my younger two in their daily math, as well.
Because we were among the earliest users, we got our Times Tales set before the upper 3′s and 4′s were added, but now you get those, too. And, Times Tales is non-consumable, so the whole family can use it.
If you’ve got a child who is struggling to remember the upper times tables, whether homeschooled, public or private schooled, I highly recommend that you check out Times Tales today.

Thank you for posting this! One of my girls is having a hard time with this and I’ve wondered how to get her over the hump. We’ll have to try this out!
This sounds fabulous! I will definitely have to look into it — thanks for the recommendation!
Kris, what a timely post, I recently wrote a review on this at my blog too! Check it out at
