My Homeschool Must Haves List

I don’t know about you, but I’m totally wiped out from the holidays! So, here’s an easy post; a short list of some of the things I’ve found essential for me as a homeschooling mom (not listed in any particular order).

Our local library- This has easily been my number one source for age appropriate books that correspond with our current lessons. And, my daughter was thrilled to get her very own library card and gets a kick out of checking out her own books.

Big packs of cheap pens
- I hate to write in pencil and the kids are always running off with my pens, so I’m really glad now that I thought to stock up on pens for myself during the back to school sales at the beginning of the year!

Crayons, glue sticks, construction paper- My daughter does a lot of self-directed, open ended art projects as well as ones specific to our current lessons, so I make sure to have plenty of art supplies on hand at all times. I don’t think kids can ever spend too much time creating!

Our Catholic homeschooling group- Although our teaching co-op itself hasn’t started, having the monthly moms meeting has been a tremendous source of support and encouragement for me.

What’s one thing that you wouldn’t want to homeschool without?

I am strangely, rather obsessively fond of my easel. ;-)

I agree — I love our library. A few years ago, they built a new branch, and it’s not too far from our house. I love that!

I like our homeschool group too. ;)
