Kris’ post last month about Setting Up a Rice Center for Preschoolers seemed to be a popular one. She had even mentioned her older children getting in on the action of playing with it!
I was feeling a bit left out. I wished I had done that when Genius was younger, but alas those days are past.
Interestingly enough, that post prompted me to look up activities about rice and I found the neatest website for teachers and students from the US Rice Producers Association.
It’s located at www.Riceromp.com.
With activities geared for grades Kindergarten all the way through 12th, and covering subjects like Math, Science, Social Studies, Health and Games it’s sure to be just as fun as the preschool rice center.
There is a section there just for teachers. For you creative homeschoolers out there, I see a unit study about rice coming on! Don’t forget to make some Rice Krispies for snack time either.
What I like best about it the rice center for older students….no clean up when the fun is done! However, it may be just as tough to get them away from it.
