Preserving Kids’ Artwork

Do you struggle with knowing what to do with all your kids’ artwork? I confess: I am guilty. I have trained my kids to put most of their work into the recycling bin at the end of the day, unless it’s something that we really want to keep. If you want to keep your kids’ work out of the recycling bin, though, here are a few suggestions that I like:

Take pictures and post an art gallery on your blog. Check out this one and this one, if you need some inspiration. I’m always impressed with Amida’s kids artwork.

Turn them into cards for the relatives. Grandparents, aunt and uncles will love getting personalized greeting cards created from your kids’ artwork.

Homemade gift bags. Buy some inexpensive, plain bags and decorate them with kids’ art for a unique gift bag.

Put them in your homeschool yearbook. I still love Tiffani’s yearbooks!

What do you do with your kids’ artwork?

I take pictures of my daughter’s artwork.

I might have to put a artwork slide show on my blog!

We scanned the artwork and turned into a children’s book.

We tied a hemp line high up between my dining room and living room and clip the art work on there with cloth pins or hooks. We face them front and others facing back so when ever we are in different rooms, we can see the different art. Gives the kiddos a chance to show their work to visitors also.

I love all these great ideas! Kristi, I left you a comment on your post and, Home4skool, your family’s book turned out fabulous!

Tie-die, the display line would work well for us, too, since we have something of an open floor plan between our dining room and living room.

You can have a beautiful hard bound book made of your child's art at Petite Picasso. They offer many services but they specialize in preserving children's artwork. There are real designers who create the books and they are made with the highest quality and care. If you want your kids art to last forever this is the way to go! Just think how cool it would be to have a library of your children's artwork they did over the years. Guaranteed they will LOVE it too.
