Have you seen Home Education Magazine? Wow! It’s filled with some fantastic ideas!
One of my favorite articles from the January/February ’09 magazine was titled “Get Out of the Way and Let the Kids Write!” by Pamela Victor. I have a very reluctant writer and it has been a major struggle to get him to create his story. Her suggestion was to start or join a writing workshop. Wow! Peer pressure to get some work done? Why didn’t I think of that???
Do you like to play board games with your kids? Do you have preschoolers at home also? Writer Angela Smith has a great article called “Old Games, New Tricks”. She shares the new “rules” that her family has created to continue playing old games with missing pieces, encouraging the younger kids to play, all while learning something new and fun!
I have really enjoyed receiving this magazine and I’m looking forward to implementing some of the fantastic ideas that I’ve read.
