In just over two weeks that auspicious holiday Mother’s Day arrives. For those of you who haven’t looked at a calendar lately, it lands on Sunday, May 10th this year.
In a setting where children are sent off to school, teachers often have crafts or activities that focus around mom, and that weekend if not forgotten in a backpack, they are presented with glee. But when mom is both the mom and the teacher, what does she do?
Now this has been my first Mother’s Day that has come around while homeschooling, and since Genius is in 7th grade, it’s been awhile since I’ve had any of the projects float across my pillow on Mother’s Day morning anyway.
However, I’m sure there are other first time homeschooling moms who are reading this blog, and so on their behalf I’m asking all the seasoned, veteran mothers….
Do any of you have any good ideas for Mother’s Day projects that are more than just a craft?
I can think of the obvious ones, the coupons, cards for Grandmas or Aunts, making a recipe card holder. But since “teacher mom” is already there seeing the not so surprising outcome of the project should it be for herself, do you have any educational Mother’s Day activities to share?
On behalf of homeschool moms everywhere, thanks for your comments!
