How Do You Do It All?

People ask me that all the time. “How do you do it all, Angie?” Or, the ever popular, “When do you find the time?”

Here are my answers:

1. I can’t do it all. I pretend that I can, but I can’t.

2. I get very little sleep.

So, really, this is a bit of a loaded question, because, really, none of us can do it all, whatever all is supposed to be.

I went to a homeschooling conference this weekend, and one of the speakers informed us that if we manage to do our schooling each day and feed our families three meals in that day as well, then that alone makes us a Super Mom.

As those words left the speakers mouth, my friend (sitting next to me) audibly said, “YES!” in what was an attempted contained whisper while she wrote it in her notebook.

We also were reminded over and over again in various talks that if we want to avoid stress, the first thing we need to rely on is prayer. After prayer, we were also encouraged in various talks to avoid stress by eating right, getting exercise, organizing, decluttering, and spending quality time with our families.

Funny — not one talk said that the way to being stress free was through blogging, Facebook, wrapping up hours each day in crafts, or being on every committee that asked us to join.

What are some things that you are doing to remain more stress free in our fast paced world? What is one thing that you most want to do in the future to remain more stress free?

Angie spends too much time on the computer and then wonders where all of her time has gone each day. At least part of that computer time is spent writing at Many Little Blessings.

Stress-free? What is this odd term, “stress-free”? :-P

Stress-free = unplugged! I have a password on our tv, we haven’t even watched PBS in weeks, we are reading, laughing, playing outside, cooking, baking, riding bikes, and not worried about the concerns of the economy and other worldly strains, they are there to distract and instill fear, so I don’t plug in!

I’ve been decluttering and clearing out things from our home. It’s helping to get me on the path to a stress free life. Also getting more sleep.
