My daughter was just asked the other day what she liked about being homeschooled and this is what she had to say:
- I like not having a schedule ☺ Some weeks we do five days of school, some weeks four, some weeks we don’t have school at all!
- I get to use the computer a lot for my school work. I am interested in computers so I like that very much.
- I don’t need to be worried about sleeping in and missing the school bus.
- My parents can take me on vacation any time of the year we want. (I get to count some of the days as field trips too!)
- I can study my subjects in any order I choose, and take two hours for science if I want (because I like science!).
- I don’t have to deal with the drama that I used to have at school, I can get my work done because I have no interruptions and then I get to have fun doing other stuff!

11 y/o says she likes it because she doesn't have to go to a "real" school for 7 hours a day and she can stay home. She also likes it because she can get it done more quickly than she could at school. She gets to do homeschool co-op, and wouldn't be able to see her friends if she went to school.
8 y/o doesn't know what to say.
(In all fairness, they've never been to school, so they really don't know if they would like it or not.)
Delaney, age 9, likes sleeping in and going on vacation at any time (disney while it's not crowded!), my mom teaching me, and getting to read more books with her extra time.
DJ, age 7, likes being able to play, having m&m's while doing school work and that we can get school done so much faster.
Kaylyn, age 5, likes homeschooling because we don't have to drive to school and fun field trips all the time.
Those are great reasons to like homeschooling [smile].

I like homeschooling because I get to sleep in, I don't have to do book reports, and I can spend more time with my mom. I also can go to the park a lot + I get to play with kids all different ages.
