I’m with Julie–people think we’re available all the time, and we simply aren’t! How can we homeschool if we’re never home to do it. I’ve been really worrying as our fall calendar fills up (and it is only July!) what on earth I’m going to do to stay sane. And I’m even already saying no to lots of activities! I am definitely going to start scheduling needed days ASAP.

Wow. It’s so nice to hear that someone else is going through the same thing! It seems people think that because we homeschool, we’re always available… so frustrating, though it’s nice to be able to just drop things and go once in awhile.

I think a “needed” day is incredibly important – what a good idea! Years ago, I cut WAY back on the amount of service work that I do when I finally realized that I was doing so much good work OUTSIDE of my home that the work INSIDE of my home was being neglected. My first priority for service has to be to my own family.
