We’ve tried — it’s just too darn sticky. We will turn it off at night, and I’m sitting here now with the shades drawn, to keep the sun out.

I’m TRYING to get more into natural cleaners as well — it’s hard for me.

Cloth napkins are a GREAT idea! My grandmother sews, so I could get her to whip up some for me in no time.

My tip is to expose your child to actual nature (Read “Last Child in the Woods” – great book on the subject and tons of other tips too)

We ditched the air conditioning. It’s not so bad, 90% of the time. Some days it’s really rough. We’ve learned a lot of handy lessons along the way that are helpful with or without the ac. Anyone wanting to go ac-free or reduce ac use can find our tips on my blog as well as how it’s going for us. BTW, we live in a very hot and humid area, too.

Natural cleaners-We use mostly vinegar and water and just recently purchased some Norwex cloths-which I love. Now the kids can help clean without worry.

Cloth Napkins-I love using these! It just makes dinner feel a little fancier. My daughter is learning how to iron now that we have these.
