I have heard so many folks talk about “family game night” why not “homeschool game day”?

I have one rule about board games – I do not pay more than $10, so we’re always on the hunt for new affordable games. We love putting games on our “Christmas list” for family and friends !

I’ve instituted Game Day every Friday. We play most of these same games – also Memory/Concentration and Scrabble Junior. We also do a lot of puzzles. The kids do develop a lot of skills from them, and it’s just fun! Who says learning has to be worksheets all the time?
An excellent place to pick up board games cheap is the seasonal children’s consignment sales — just google children’s consignment sales,and you should find one in your area.
What a great idea! Our homeschool could definitely use another fun day of learning.

2) We used to do Homeschool Game Days occasionally with our homeschool group. Each family would bring a couple of favorite games, and the kids (and adults) would play. It was a great time and a good, low-cost way to experience new games.

We actually have a game WEEK every 6 wks – it makes doing school year round a lot more fun for us :)
Our best deal ever on a board game was finding a never been used Rumikub from the 80s at a yard sale for $1 – woot! It’s our favorite “board game” (is it a board game if there is no board?) – but our favorite game is Canasta.
A good reminder that games are more than just fun. We enjoy a game called Can’t Stop – wonderful for math and fun too.
