The following is a post from contributing writer Honey Brown.
You have created awesome learning material for your homeschool classroom using images you found on the internet and now you want to dress up the learning materials with fun fonts and make things even more enticing for your little learners. I have researched and collected some excellent font sites for use in your homeschool.
Sources for Fonts:
- Two Peas In A Bucket
- Google Fonts
- Font Squirrel
- 1001 Free Fonts
- dafont
- Fonts For Peas
- Scrapbook Fonts
- Free Scrapbooking Fonts
- Font Garden
- Lucky Bug Scrapbooking Fonts
*Warning – if you are wanting to use these fonts for anything other than personal projects, please check the licenses for each font/site.
It doesn’t matter what type of home learning environment you have at your house, there are ways to incorporate fun fonts into things that you can create yourself. All you need is a free word processing software, like Libre Office, and you can be on your way in a few short minutes.
Here are just a few ideas of homeschool things you can create for your students with these fonts:
- worksheets
- notebooking pages
- lapbooking pieces
- tests
- handouts
- file folder games
- games
- flashcards
You can take your creativity to its limits by thinking outside of the box and using these fonts for something totally unique and original. Take some time with your students and brainstorm different ways to use fun fonts in your homeschool.
Here are some other ideas to get you started:
- storybooks
- alphabet magnets
- alphabet stones
- scrapbooking pages
- fun font sorts
- ransom notes
- book reports
- spelling activities
- art projects
- science project boards
- creating writing prompts
What other creative ways can you use fun fonts in your homeschool?
